K-REV Family-Friendly Christian Radio

ANNOUNCER ANDY
Good Morning everyone. You’re listening to the All-new Digital Family-friendly Christian Radio Network, K-REV.   (K-REV ID plays, with upbeat music)

Next is Bob Parker with the latest breaking news.

BOB
Thank you Andy, and Good Morning, everyone.  There was a small earthquake in the St. Louis, Missouri area around 3:00 this morning, local time.   This is the third time this year St. Louis experienced an earth tremor--but, today there are reports of damage near the Lambert St. Louis International Airport on the north side of the city.

We have Marcia Williams on the line standing by with a live report.  Marcia?

MARCIA
Yes Bob.  I’m standing here near the airport on the intersection of Cypress Road and Interstate 70, where there is a huge sinkhole developing.  According to neighbors it started out small, swallowing up someone’s SUV, but it’s expanding.  Authorities have closed the Interstate –

(we hear a loud crashing sound)
Oh, no—

BOB
What happened?  Marcia, are you still there?

MARCIA
It looks like the hole just about doubled in size.  Now…there are houses missing… and part of the highway.  Wow…. This is unbelievable….

This is Marcia Williams reporting.  We’ll have more for information at the bottom of the hour.

BOB
Thanks Marcia.

And now, back to Bob Parker in the Morning.

BOB
Thanks Andy.  Before the news break, we were talking about what makes a family house into a family home.   Crystal on a cell phone from St. Louis was making the point that a house becomes a home if we pray at home.  I asked Crystal to stay on the line during the break.
Crystal, are you still there?

CRYSTAL
Yes Bob, I’m still here.

BOB
Thanks for waiting.  So, if we pray in our house as a family, then our house becomes a home?

CRYSTAL
That’s part of it. I was thinking during the break that our home should be our sanctuary—our safe place from the world.  We should be Christians in our homes, at all times, as an example of Christ to our spouses and our children.

BOB
That’s a REVelation!
Here’s my next question:  What do people feel when they walk into your house?
Anger?  Bitterness?   Sadness?  or—

CRYSTAL

Love—the love of God.   Our unsaved neighbors watch us, every day.  If we act just like they do, then they will think “What’s the point? I don’t want to be like them.  I’m already like that.”

BOB
Another REVelation!
Next question:  What should we do when we see our neighbor is in trouble?

CRYSTAL
The Bible says “Let us not become weary in doing good.”

BOB
Perfect-- I like the next verse, too, “Let us do good to all people.”
[Galatians 6:9a+10b NIV]

ANNOUNCER ANDY
Bob, we have an update from Marcia, on line seven.

BOB
Okay—Crystal, can you please hold on again?

CRYSTAL
Yes sir.

BOB
Marcia, what do you have?

MARCIA
Bob, Andy, we have an absolute disaster.  The sinkhole is growing, and authorities report that it’s slowing down now, but it took out about a dozen houses nearby.  A section of the Interstate is lost, as well as one airport runway.   I heard part of your conversation with Crystal--we have some neighbors here who just lost everything.  I have a mother and daughter here with me now--

BOB
Marcia… Marcia?  Are you still there?

MARCIA
--I guess we got cut off for a second.  We may have lost a cell tower, too.  Anyway, I have Joan and her little daughter Megan here with me.

Joan, what are you feeling right now?

JOAN
Total shock.  I dropped off my older kids at school this morning… and… when I came back…my house was gone.

MARCIA
Let me give you a hug….

CRYSTAL
(interrupts) Marcia Williams?

MARCIA
Yes, who are you?

CRYSTAL
I’m the caller on the line with Bob Parker.  I drove over here as fast as I could.

How can I help?

MARCIA
It looks like the Salvation Army just showed up—over there.  Please walk with Joan and Megan—

MEGAN
Thank you, Miss Marcia.

MARCIA
Oh, sweetie….

BOB
Crystal, are you still on-line?

CRYSTAL
I’m here--on-site, walking with Joan and Megan.

BOB
Please let them know we’re praying…
It looks like the family home is not necessarily a place
it’s something that lives in the heart.

CRYSTAL
That’s a REVelation!
