KYLE You’re listening to the All-new Digital
Family-friendly Christian Radio Network K-REV.
And today Ann is interviewing
folks on the street about prayer.
What K-REVelation do people have about prayer?
Ann, are you ready to go?
ANN We are ready!
Good morning Kyle.
KYLE God’s morning to you too!
ANN Thank you.
KYLE Whatcha got for our K-REV listeners today?
ANN I’m on the street interviewing Bob and Marcia
about prayer. Thanks Bob and
Marcia for agreeing to go on the air with us.
MARCIA Oh, tank you so much Ann fer askin’ us.
BOB I don’t mind bein’ here, but we gotta hurry it
up. I got work to do.
ANN This won’t take long.
Bob, do you pray?
BOB Of course I pray—who wouldn’t pray?
Da way dese guys drive aroun’ here.
ANN Thanks Bob.
Marcia, how about you—do you pray?
MARCIA Oh yes, all-da-time.
I pray fer Bob a lot of the time.
BOB (mocking Marcia)
I pray fer Bob a lot of the time,
whaddya mean by that?
MARCIA I just do pray, is all.
ANN On to the next question!
Marcia, when you pray, do you pray out loud?
For example, if we were to pray right now, would you pray aloud, or
more whisper to yourself?
MARCIA Ohhhh, I always pray quietly, it’s the
Christian way.
ANN How about you, Bob?
Do you pray out loud?
BOB Unlike Marcia here, I talk with God out loud
all the time, see… I see it
dis way, if I talk out loud to Him, then I hearz it, and I know He hearz
it, too. A lot of the time I
even walk around conversin’ wit Him.
MARCIA Ohhhh Bob, that is wonderful.
ANN Okay , this is really good.
Marcia, what do you normally pray for when you pray?
MARCIA I pray da Lord bless Bob and our entire
family wit good health an’ protection, an’ for our finances, too.
ANN Thanks Marcia.
And you, Bob? What do
you pray for?
BOB I pray we can get dis interview done soon—hey,
I’m just razzin’ ya, Ann.
Seriously, though, I pray fer Joette our daughter all-da-time.
She’s been through a lot in her young life.
MARCIA Ohhhh Bob, that is wonderful.
BOB (mocking Marcia)
Ohhhh Bob, that is wonderful. Of
course it’s wonderful—
ANN Okay then, on to the next question!
Marcia, if you met someone on the street who needed someone to
pray for them, would you do it right then, or go home and pray about it?
MARCIA I’d prob-ly write it down, take it home an’
pray.
ANN And you, Bob?
If you met someone on the street who needed someone to pray for
them, would you do it right then, or—
BOB I’d pray fer dem right dare.
Lemme give you an example.
MARCIA Bob, remember we’re on da radio dare?
BOB Okay, before I was RUDELY interrupted:
Ann, let’s say you’re da lady on the street who walks up to me and
sez, (getting louder, and Bob
gently lays one hand on Ann’s shoulder) “I don’t need no money or nuttin’
like dat, sir, but I sees you’re a man of faith.
Could you pray fer me?
I need a job to pay for my medical billz.”
See, I’d be like the Lord an’ pray fer her right dare.
(getting even louder) Like
dis, “Father, in Your Name Jesus, I pray for Ann—lead her to where you
want her to be an’ bless her wit a job.
And Lord—”
OFFICER (interrupts Bob)
Excuse me, ma’am, is everything okay here?
Is this man hurting you
ANN Officer, he’s not hurting me, he’s actually
showing me how he’d pray for someone on the street, out loud.
OFFICER I see, and you’re from a radio station?
ANN Yes sir, from the
Christian Radio Network, K-REV.
OFFICER Okay then, carry on.
We got complaints, so keep it down. (exits)
BOB I got one ting to say about dat.
ANN What’s that?
BOB Dat was much ado about nuttin.
